Meet Dede — Quilting Bee Fabrics’ newest part-time sparkle! Dede joined us this spring after retiring from her Monday–Friday job and told us she wanted something creative and fun for a day or two each week. Lucky for us, she brought a bubbly personality, a love for perfectly folded fat quarters, and an infectious smile that makes the shop brighter.
This week’s employee fat quarter 6-pack picks are pure summer joy — and unmistakably Dede. Her choices scream watermelon season with a fresh palette of greens, pinks, and bold black polka dots. Two of the fabrics are even Grunge (yes, we tease her about that — she sometimes won’t even touch Grunge, LOL — but clearly she made an exception this time!). Dede’s heart, though, belongs to vintage-vibe collections, polka dots galore, and an unabashed love of gingham prints. If it looks like a picnic, she’s already planning a quilt.
When she’s not at Quilting Bee, Dede stays delightfully busy: of course she sews, she adores spending time with her silly grandkids, and she loves collecting vintage quilts. We’re impressed she still finds time for all of that (and to fold fat quarters to perfection!).
